Looking for info on Hopton's of Springfield twsp., Philadelphia and Montgomery Co.'s. Edward Hopton appears in the 1715 tax list. William Hopton married in 1737. Edward Hopton appears in tax lists of 1784 thru 1794. Edward and Joseph then moved to Chester Co., PA. Edward appears in Greene Co., PA in 1810. Joseph's descentents lived on in Chester Co. till the present time.
