I am looking for family of Samuel Wallace Hopton. born 1866 in Bellaire, Ohio. Sam married Margaret (Maggie) Updegraff in 1898 in Howe, OK. They had three children: Edna Mae, born 8/13/1900 Hot Springs, Ark; James Walter, born 11/9/1909 - Plainview, Ark & Ruth Zerle, born 6/2/1913 - Vinita, OK. I know Samuel had at least one older brother, Will, probably nick name who lived & died in Calif. Will worked as a security guard at one of the prisions there. Samuel was thought to have at least one sister but not sure of name or of other siblings. I found a 1860 Wayne Twp., Belmont Co. Census for a James Hopton born app 1823 in Pa. with a wife, Jane (1832 - OH, children: Julia (1855); William J. (1856), Hannah (1858) & David (6 mos) - all children born in Ohio.
There was also a Hannah Hopton age 61 who was born in PA. Possibly James' mother.
Also found was a marriage for Jesse Hopton & Sarah Finch on 5/21/1815 in Washington CO., PA.
I am very new at this genealogy so any help someone might have would be appreciated.
