I believe that Edward may have been the son of Edward Hopton of Montgomery and Chester Co.'s and also the brother of my ancestor, Joseph Hopton. The name Edward Hopton appears in the early census records in Chester Co. and then pops up later in Greene Co. I have no other information that would lead to a connection.
