Jean, I don't want to confuse you, but Warnaar was not German. He was Dutch. Warnaar was born in Amsterdam and was orphaned at a very young age. He came across the ocean on a boat called "de Vergelde Bever" which in English means the Golden Beaver. Records of Warnaar's passage are confirmed by a Peter Van Halen, a shoemaker and a neighbor of Waarner's on the Bloemengracht in Amsterdam which our ancestor worked for both overseas and in New Amsterdam, by the note "Peter Van Halen and Family plus one Boy" the boy being our Warnaar who was underage at the time.

Now, just for the record, anyone in this forum that has ever stated I do not exist and that I never lived in Holland or did research on our family there is wrong. Any "family research" done in this forum is based upon Duffy Hornbeck's book which my father and I both possess. I lived in The Netherlands from 2000 - 2003, got married there, and did a considerable amount of soul searching while there including the discovery of what may possibly be Warnaar's father's grave in the Westerkirk of Amsterdam.
