William Henry Horricks/Horrocks (1789-1880)

Horricks: Seeking ancestors for William Henry Horricks born, 18 Dec 1789, somewhere in the Manchester area of Lancashire. In 1807 joined the Sixth (1st Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot. Served in both Penninsular Campaigns and the Walcheran Expedition against the French. Sent to Canada in 1814, saw action against American Army at Fort Erie. Demobilized from Sixth Foot 1815 and joined Glengarry Light Infantry. Demobilized from the Glengarry’s in 1816 and granted land in Drummond Township, Lanark County, Ontario. Married Christina Esther Forsythe in 1823 and fathered 14 children. Died near Perth, Ontario Canada, 02 March 1880.
