Here are some records that I accumulated about a year ago:

Thomas Horsey and Robert Beard to administrate the estate of Stephen Chipchase of the Parish of St. Phillip- citation made October 3, 1767. Thomas later proved the L.W.T. of George Corker and Josiah Smith qualified as the Executor.
Thomas Horsey married Elizabeth Newball on July 21, 1791, at the Congregational Circular Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Children born to them: Thomas May 3, 1792; Abigail July 5, 1793; Sarah June 11, 1795; Samuel Jones March 20, 1799. Thomas and his son drowned while fishing in 18??

Both Thomas and Daniel Horsey served in the Regiment of Captain James Bentham in 1778. (South Carolina Historical Magazine.)

My guidance is to look into the records of Charleston. Since there are records found for Thomas, I'd look into Daniel Horsey and see what exists. Most low-country South Carolinians appreciated their environment and had less in common with back-country pioneers. However, 1830 is in the time zone I characterize as "the break-out" period with some younger low-country Carolinians moving to low-country Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana unless they were merchants or manufacturing reps, and those went everywhere.
