Stephen Horsey's parents in England c. 1620

I'm am looking for the elusive link between the Horsey family of Somerset County, MD and it English ancestors. Here's what I know:

Stephen Horsey was born around 1820. Some claim his birthplace was the Isle of Wight, but I've never seen anything that would prove this claim. Stephen Horsey immigrated to Virginia around 1843. He was transported to American by Obedience Robbins, who was originally from Brackley, Northhamptonshire. It seems Obedience's father was a shareholder in the Virginia Company, and Obedience went to America around 1620 to promote the investment.

Perhaps of more help are the names of Stephen's children: Stephen Jr., Nathaniel, John, Samuel, Isaac, Mary and Abigail. None of these names appear to be local associates, so I wonder if they are family names. I can't help but wonder if Stephen Horsey might have been related to Sir George Horsey, who died in Newgate Prison about a year after Stephen immigrated. An event like that could have prompted him to leave the country. George also had a disinherited brother named John, and his status with the family could have driven John's children to America.

Any information you might have on the Horsey family in England would be greatly appreciated.
