To confuse things further, my Horsey family immigrated to Charleston, SC, in the 1760s. We had DeBrett's run the lineage back and they learned that this ancestor, Thomas Horsey, came from St. Giles in the Fields parish in London and that possibly the name was corrupted from Harssy.
