Dear Joseph,
Pardon me, I am lazy, I am paste and copying a message to Gretchen but you may know more about this then I. I hope you can help me

Dear (Gretchen) and now Joseph,
The only information I have on my request to you is from a copy of a copy in a bible written:
The family of Horsey Smith:
6 children
1. Elizabeth
2. Hiram
3. Sally
4. Nancy W. (our relative)
5. Edward
6 Ellen
I think that Horsey Smith isn't a name but surname so Horsey and Smith. I also can't find a Horsey Smith and maybe this is the way to research.
It doesn't say the mother's name.
Nancy is a Smith.
She marries Barna G Gibbs Sr. he is born in NY(we think).
They have four children Annie, Barna Jr., James, and Jane
On the census our Barna G Gibbs is born in Indiana, his tomb says born in 1826. I don't know the year Nancy Smith is born. I am just amazed the bible had this information.
It says Nancy is born in Maryland
I went to the 1790 Worcestor County, Maryland and I found lots of Smiths and only one Horsey and that is Lambert Horsey. I know this is a long shot. Many times many families marry so they have the same names and I was hoping this might be a connection for both of us?
Barna Jr. later moves to Grundy MO. and maybe there are more Horsey's around too? Barna Jr. takes some of his family to Oregon.
Please let me know if you know more, and that this might make sense or not? One more thing I had found in my research in Maryland: a marriage listing of an Edward Smith m. Nancy Waller Horsey June 4 1799.
Carol Wright
