Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the info you posted does not bear on this question. There is no question that Caleb-2 had a son named Jonathan-3. There is also no question that he was living in 1700 and under 20 years of age.
The Jonathan-3, son of Caleb, described in Hortons in American says that Jonathan was born "abt 1668! Age in 1700 would be 32! And, that he died in 1697. Caleb's Jonathan was clearly alive in 1700, under 20, and therefore, likely unmarried.

The switch seems plausible because the Jonathan-3 HIA gives to Jonathan-2 is born 1683 (ie 17 in 1700) and married and died after 1700.
