Exum Boyde Horton

FRANKLIN, N.C. - Exum Boyde Horton, Jr., age 85, of Franklin, N.C passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011.
Born in Raleigh, NC, he was the son of the late Exum
Boyde Horton Sr. and Mary Fleming Horton. He was married to Victoria Elizabeth Adams Horton for 40 years. He grew up in Chapel Hill, N.C. where he attended Chapel Hill High School. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a degree in electrical engineering. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from AT&T and Western Electric where he worked as an electrical engineer. He loved electronics, flying, and loved to travel.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Yardley of Silver City, NM and Amy Johnson of Panther Creek, N.C.; three sons, Roger E. Johnson of Fletcher, N.C., Neil Johnson of Greensboro, N.C. and Artemus Autlav
of Franklin, N.C.; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at his residence.
