Wharton/Whorton/Horton

Its been awhile since I last visited or had a chance to work on my family tree. Unfortunately, I am stuck in the same old place. If anyone has any information on anyone listed below or can offer any assistance I would
appreciate it.

My GGGrandfather was James Garnett Wharton, born 1813/1814. He married Mildred Utz, born 1815/1817, the daughter of Solomon Utz and Elizabeth Clore Utz. He was a Shoemaker and lived in Woodville, VA. They had the following children:

James Cornelius Wharton, born Dec 14, 1838
Jones Green Wharton, born Apr 19, 1840
William Tyler "Tyde" Wharton, born in 1842

The first three children were listed as having served in the confederacy.

Lucy Mildred Wharton, born Oct 13, 1844
Aaron Nicholas Wharton, born in 1846
George Washington Wharton, born Oct 22, 1849
Ernest F. Wharton, born in 1852
Henry Broaddus Wharton, born 1853 (My GGrandfather)
Edward Burgess "Byrg" Wharton, born Feb 12, 1855

In reviewing faily info I have seen the last name spelled as Wharton, Whorton, and Horton, sometimes evem among brothers.

Would appreciate either postings to this index or private email at dhershey@shentel.net
