I am a descendant of William Wade Horton through his daughter Wadeanna.
I have a book (I assume there are many out there) of the Memoirs of S. H. Horton.Alexander Horton's son.
This is what he says about Julius Horton.
"He seems to have been a man of wild, reckless disposition, and consequently frequently embroiled in personal difficulties of a more or less serious nature. This culminated, as is most generally the case,- he killed a man and was confined in jail without bail.the devoted wife (Susan Purnell Horton) obtained permission to spend the night with him in jail and managed to conceal a knife about her person, and at an opportune time went to work and soon succeeded in removing a brick.
This so encouraged the husband that he and another man, who was also a prisoner, went to work and soon removed enough brick to permit them passing out to freedom. He went to Louisianna, the family following soon after. He died there in 1818."
