Ellen,
That is the correct cem.Knew it had another name but thought it was Frank Cem.Was a long time ago that I was there!!
Didn't you find Peter Sr & Samuel Jrs's wife Sarah??They were buried with Peter's wife Mary & Peter Jr (died in Civil War).Should have taken a picture of Sarah's stone when I was there. Will probably never get back.
Have just printed out a 17 page gen report from my FTW file on the Hassler/etc Family. Starting with Ulrich Hasler b 1515-1548, died 1580-1632, married Anna Degen. All Canton of Basel, Switzerland. Printed a copy for Owen D. Hosler, s/o Newton & Minnie Coffin Hosler (lived Webster City, Iowa & was brother of my Grandfather Elmo Arthur).
I used "The Hasler Families And Where They Came From" by Helen Hassler Dempsey, 1946/7. Am trying to confirm the data listed in the book.I know there is descrepancies & would like to correct them.IE: the book says Peter Sr's wife was Mary Miller; descendants says Stieger.Know of other descrepancies also.
What is your connect??
The data is most helpful as it helps confirm data I have.It was a wonderful way to spend your birthday!!I love old cems & have recorded many of them. So many that my ex-husband told people to give me directions from the nearest cem & I could find it!!!
Have some data from Huntington Lib & a death record of Simon/Simeon that gives his mother's name as Sarah Gregory, father's name of Samuel.Sarah is at France Cem & Samuel Jr (& #2 wife Elizabeth Dilling, I suppose) is at Mt Hope Cem.Have never been to Mt Hope Cem. Didn't have time when I was there.
The Hassler/Hossler's came to Huntington from Osnaburg Twp (Canton), Stark, Oh.Peter & Samuel Jr's pts Samuel & Elizabeth (don't have her maiden name) Hassler/Hossler Sr went to Stark Co, Oh from Lower Cocalico Twp, Lancaster, Pa.Don't have death dates for Samuel Sr & Elizabeth. Both are listed in the 1850 Cen of Stark Co in the household of their son Henry & wife Margaret (Gregory). No will/probate or cemfor either in Stark Co.Do not know what can be found in Stark Co as I have not been there.
Email me privately with your snail mail addy & I will be glad to send you the FTW file if you would like it.
Mary
