Arthur Thomas Houlton and John Henry Houlton (England 1850s)
I am very interested in tracing information about these men's English families.
Arthur Thomas Houlton was born (20?) April 1859 inYorkshire, and christened 22 June 1859 in Bramham. His parents' names were John and Mary Anne, and he had at least one brother (Frederick?) who apparently emigrated to Australia.Arthur Thomas trained in veterinary medicine at a college in Leeds, but was never licensed to practise. As a single man he emigrated to Canada sometime before 1888 where he settled in southwestern Ontario in Nissouri Township.
John Henry Houlton was born in March (?) 1850 in the part of Grantham District that lies in Leicestershire. In 1871 he married Ruth Hubbard in the Bourne District of Lincolnshire, and with two small children (Philip and Ruth)emigrated to Canada c. 1873.They too settled in Nissouri Township in Ontario.
!n 1888 Arthur Thomas Houlton married Ruth Houlton, the daughter of John Henry, in Middlesex County, Ontario where they farmed and produced twelve children.
My interest is in trying to determine if and how there might be a connection between Arthur Thomas and John Henry.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you
