Your welcome, and I can understand your wanting to be accurate as well as considerate of US copy right laws.
I am afraid that I am confused as to your source...you say this is a compilation of history.Was this something that you got from a publication, or something that someone sent you?
If it is a publication from a book or article, then no you cannot post it verbatum as this would be against copy right laws unless you quote the full publication source.
But on the other hand, if this was something that was sent to you by a second party, then all you need do is quote the party who sent it to you, along with their e-mail address and time received...this is the proper form of citation...again you must state that the actual source for the information is not known by you...this releases you from liability.
