Actually, Jack, the correct spelling is; "De nada" at the beginning of a sentence or "de nada" within a sentence. The literal translation is "thanks" or "thank you" or "don't mention it".
"Nada" is the Spanish pronoun "nothing". "de" is the attached preposition.
Don't forget, in pronouncing the word, the "d" has more of a "th" sound.
