Hi Margaret...
Stephen Howard is the son of Joseph Howard of originally Onslow Co......and he married Sarah Sanders of the Backswamp, in Onslow....They were part of the Baptist migration into South Carolina, about 1762...et. al. , I sent you the Post on that...
Margaret, I have begun with my personal family and been researching it for about 50 years now...and nothing has changed a great deal regaring the various generations back to the John Howard of Jamestowne, Va.I had as I told you in the earlier post...I was off on the wrong John , according to several folks , to begin with..."Ye Lost Colony Saverne" (Frederic Saunders) I give all of this in the earlier Post.....on this forum.
I , with the help of et. al. lots of people , finally got the right John....of Jamestowne. He was the only John coming to America that I could have, that the dates were right....Too, LDS Genealogy Lab; Saffron Walden, Essex England, the Peerage group that I have, and had , Henry Howard, as marring Anne. All of the Peerage`s that have been submitted, by the Wolves of the Forum, have not had this, and "Put Down LDS, and all those researchers, and Saffron. I am absolutely sure that A HENRY HOWARD, WAS THERE IN SAFFRON, WALDEN , ESSEX, GB. I have only gotten a negative for help....never any suggestion where this Henry came from....I do know though he was the father of my John Howard, that came to Jamestowne, Va.....and from Jamestowne and down to Hampstead, N.C.is "Perfect", and anyone can take it or leave it.....I have had this for , as I said, 50+ Years now....Too, IF this Henry was the son or ??? of Thomas, 4th Duke, and Margaret deAudley, or not....I would be satisfied, until someone can give me something better thatis documented......Those folks of Saffron, and LDS are the ones that have it on file....and I would take it there until Kevin, or his sources show me differently, and where this Henry is, if not there at Thomas`s and deAudleys.....It is the only scenerio, I have seen, other than just lists, that do not mention this. Anyway, I have much documentation on Jamestowne, and John Haward (Howard) that I will send you upon request via your e-mail....
Until I have it from a better source, I would stay with Henry, as the father of John Howard of Jamestowne....Ihave the best documentation availiable I suspect for this....Let me know if you have a better source as to who WAS HENRY`S FATHER, AND SOURCE....He did have something going there , whether son or not, at the deAudley estate!!!
Too, I am not concerned with titles,as John Howard of Jamestowne had none, but "Clerke", and as already stated was working with Edward Bennett as a "Fish mounger" there on his Plantation.....
The list you put of your generations, with Agnes, the 2nd wife of Thomas the 2nd duke and et. al. are in and out of the two scenerios of John.....This was the right REV. JOHN....son of Robert Howard, and Phillipa Buxton, and Robert was the illigitimate son of Lord Thomas Howard, who had an illigitimate with Princess Margaret Douglas, and was put into the tower, and died there....THE MOSS THEORY.
as in the book, "YE LOST CONONY SEVERN"....This little baby Robert was sent off to be reared in Brockdish and hidden away....As he grew up he did become known as "Rev. John Howard of Brockdish", and later had married Elizabeth Locke......and this is who I had connected to my Francis Howard...et. al.....but incorrect....My JOHN WAS OF JAMESTOWNE OF 1621...DIED 1622....AND HIS SON, THE YOUNGER FRANCIS BORN SAME YEAR HE DIED IN THE INDIAN MASSACRE IN ENGLAND...SAFFRON WALDEN ESSEX ENGLAND....
Again, sources are great, and you , if a researcher, have to use what is avaliable, and the best , until it is found a better, proven source than Kevin is giving....
I am satisfied and will stay where I am with OUR family, as its the best History of the Howards has to offer..... I WOULD LIKE TO GET THAT HENRY SATISFACTION IN EVERYONE`S MIND, but until it is proven, and found, better than the documentations avaliable,I will stick with it.
Actually the family history has not really changed from the Moss Theory....Just added a couple generations here and there back....It all, if Howard all the way back, will run the SAME LINE.....THE HOWARD LINE.... [email protected].
Again, if you want any of this I can send it via. Email.....I will wait, though, until you request same....
