Course, Matthew was not my line, or brother that did get here thru Virginia at later dates, as they came of age, and were looking for land. My line is still John Haward, Howard of the 2nd Colony Jamestowne, and working for Edward Bennett, as a "fish monger" , and was only titled "Clerke". He was there on the Bennett Plantation that "Good Friday", as he (John Howard), was killed during the Indian Massacre.
Matthew was working at "An adjoining plantation" that day and was spared....
My line Len, comes thru the younger son Francis Howard, who came much later to land on Lower Norfolk Co., that his brother had gotten and held for him until "he was of Age". The brother who got this land and held it for him was John Howard (Brother of Matthew and Francis). Again all documented thru the Jamestowne Society....This was the only Matthew that was in Jamestowne Virginia, that I have been able to find....he got there witrh his dad in 1621...Jack
