This is a long shot, but I wonder if there might be a connection.

I have a James HOWARTH (HOWORTH) b. Abt. 1822 Newchurch, in Rossendale, Lanc. (occupation Grocer)

He married twice, firstly to Alice (Unknown Surname) and secondly to Mary MOSS on July 16, 1856, in Wigan, Lanc.

Children with Alice include Delilah and Naomi, both born in Stacksteads/Whalley, Lanc.

Children with Mary include Alice Jane, Joseph, Mary Ann, Martha and Hannah, all born in Pemberton, in Wigan, Lanc.

The marriage record for James HOWORTH and Mary MOSS lists James place of residence as Furnace Hill, Dukinfield. James father is listed as Richard HOWORTH, profession "Gentleman".

Note: The spelling of the surname in the Marriage record is HOWORTH, although the spelling in later documentation is HOWARTH.
