The Howarth yDNA project sets out to explore the contribution that male DNA analysis can make to Howarth (all spellings)family history and to validate assumptions about the origins of the name. We have now been going for 12 months and have 15 members. Results to date seem to confirm that a large proportion of Howarths do have a common ancestor in the period since surnames were adopted in the 13th century. Other Howarths have quite different early ancestry.
I am anxious to get as many family members as possible to participate. If you are curious to know how you relate to the existing project members and data please email me for further information on how to participate.
