My 4th gr. grandfather was James Howatt m. 1814 Cumnock, Ayrshire Scotland to Janet Cowan. Their known ch. were, Thomas b. 1816 James b. 1826, and Jean b. 1822 who m. John Borland 1841 Glasgow, Lanark Scotland. Jean and John Borland immigrated to PA>CA>NV in 1848. She is my 3rd gr.grandmother. Jean's brother James also immigrated to Foresthill, CA, shown on records there by the 1860's. He m.Sarah __? in Scotland and had ch. James, Edward B (who m. Eureka ?), Elizabeth, William M., and Jane. Elizabeth, Wm. and Jane were born in CA. I would like any information on descendants of this James or his ancestors.
