Hi Jackie,
My mom's maiden name was also Jackie Howat. She is the daughter of John Henderson Howat, who is the son of John Henderson Howat b.in Renfrew,Renfrew Scotland 1871. John Sr. is the son of Robert & Janet Carmicheal Howat. Robert is the son of John Howat 1806 and Margaret McDougall. Do you know the siblings of William Howat? Have you been in touch with Judy and Jack Allen? They have done alot of research on the Howat's. Let me know if I can be of any help to you.
