Has anyone out there discovered an Andrew Howat who was married to Margaret Mair? They were my great, great grandparents. My difficulty is that there are no records of Andrew - nothing in the OPRs for example, nor the IGI. He died some time before the first census in 1841. We have concluded that Andrew must have been a dissenter, or non-conformist, hence his non-inclusion in the records of the established church.
