Hi Dawn, I was doing a bit of research and found your e-mail re George Howat. Your mother's father was my father too. He married Mary Ellen Martin from Donegal Ireland and migrated to Australia in 1957. I am their only child.
Dad had two younger brothers, Charlie who was married to Violet and had a daughter Heather. He died in the '60s. The other was Uncle John who I used to write to. He died in Kilmacolm in the '90 (could probably track dates ig you like). Uncle John had no children. He lived in Old Halll Drive. George (my father, your grandfather) still has a cousin living in Kilmacolm (Miss Margaret Morrow). The grave stone is in Kilmacolm cemetary. George and Alexander were George's sons - your mother's elder brothers. Annie Buchanan was my father's 3rd wife who was his cousin and came to Australia to marry him after my mother died.
I used to write to your Uncle Jim who I remember as a little girl and I am still in contact with your Uncle John. Is your mum still alive? She is my only sister.
I am married to John Edward Bradshaw and have 2 children, Alexis Georgina Howat Bradshaw (7 Nov.1983) and Samuel John Howat Bradshaw (17 Nov.1987).
