Pearl Howe: b 15 Jan 1782 in keene, Cheshire Co. New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Tilly Howe and
Susannah Puffer and granddaughter of Micajah Howe (b. 25 Jun 1734) and Sarah Eames (b. 15 Feb 1731)
Tilly Howe: b. abt 1757 in Rutland, Worcester Co. Massachusetts the son of Micajah Howe (b. 25 Jun 1734)
and Sarah Eames (b. 15 Feb 1731). He married Susannah Puffer 29 Sep 1778 in Keene, Cheshire co. New
Hampshire. He died 5 Jul 1813 in East Machias, Washington Co. Maine.
Rev. Tilly Howe: b. 1 May 1750 in Marlborough, Middlesex Co. Massachusetts. He was the son of Eliakim and
Rebecca Howe. He died Sep 1830 in Fryeburg, Oxford Co. Maine.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Little is known about Tillus Howe. What we do know is: he was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, was raised in Henniker, New Hampshire; was the first man from Henniker to go to college (Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire) and graduated as a Clergyman, Ministered on various parts of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Western Maine, and died in Fryeburg, Oxford County, Maine.
Fryeburg is just six miles where his father died in Brownfield, Oxford County, Maine. We don't know who he married (some said maybe twice), and we don't know any of his children.
Aug 6, 1778, Tilly Howe (Corporal) and his brother, Jonathah Howe(Lt.), enlisted for three months and joined the army in Rhode Island. The enemy disappearing from the coast, these men were discharged Aug 27.
We also know that the records has Tillus or Tilly Howe is mixed up with a Tilly Howe, son of Micajah Howe and Sarah Eames. Even Daniel Wait Howe have the two mixed up in his book "John Howe Genealogies". To tell them apart: Tillus(Tilly) Howe and his father, Eliakim Howe died in Oxford County, Maine. Tilly Howe and his father, Micajah Howe, died in Washington County, Maine. It was Tilly, son of Micajah, that married Susannah Puffer.
(Now I feel that the Tilly Howe son of Eliakim Howe and the Tilly Howe married Susannah Puffer are not the same
person. If you can prove otherwise, Please PLEASE!! let me know. Thanks!)
