Charles L. Howe, born about 1851 in NY, is found 1880 Census living in Watkins Glen, NY. He is married to Elizabeth between 1870 and 1880 - This is Elizabeth Sawyer d/o Henry Sawyer. Elizabeth had once been married to someone by the name of Wilson - probably Dewitt Wilson. She has a son Samuel Wilson who also lives with Charles L. Howe and her in Watkins. By 1900 Elizabeth married to Samuel E. Vanloan (VanLone) of Cayutaville with and her son Samuel Wilson which "COULD" indicate Charles L. Howe has passed away.
Elizabeth Sawyer Wilson Howe Vanloan is named in an Aunt Estate - in that estate they mention a name Charles Houck ---- which I wonder if they could have been referring to Charles Howe - perhaps the census was wrong or perhaps the estate record - THEN AGAIN - they also mention Vanloan in the estate so ---- Houck could be someone completely different.
Sounds like a complicated life - I'm related to the Sawyers - but I sure would like to learn more about Charles L. Howe ..... can anyone help? Mark Brown
