Hi Sherry – I have been searching for my gr-gr-grandfather for sometime as well --- until now
My gr-gr-grandfather was Robert Scott Howe and he was a sergeant in the 13th Hussars
He was in Canada during the Fenian wars around 1866 with the 13th Hussars, that is around the time when my Great-grandfather was born – Robert Scott Howe (there was a thing about naming the sons Robert Scott??)
My Great grandfather is buried in Hamilton, Ontario. Canada – he died in 1925 – the only military reference my gr-grandfather had was that he was born in Stanley Barracks at Fort York – better known as City of Toronto
I have a picture of my gr-gr-grandfather and his good conduct / long service metal (about 1866)

It is true that the Howe’s have a history of being in the military – my grandfather (Robert Scott) born in Hamilton, Canada (1893) He was a segeant and was wounded in the First World War - he died in 1919 of appendicitis – 3 months before my father was born (Robert Wallace).Who was a Sergeant in the WW2
My grand father is buried in Hastings, England – in the military cemetery
