Eliza Jane Fanning, one of five known children of Davis Fanning and Detatia (Dosha) Lynch, born in the later 1830's in Madison Co., AR. Her parents were married 22 Feb 1832, in Morgan Co., IL. The parents were divorced sometime before 25 Nov 1849, as Dosha married as a #3 wife William Easley in Washington Co., AR, and had an additional five Easley children. Dosha was born c1814 in TN.

Dosha's parents were James Lynch and Deborah Jane Unknown. Davis' parents were Joseph Fanning Sr and Barbara Davis. The parents were married 8 Apr 1790, in Montgomery Co., VA. Davis Fanning, #10 of eleven unknown children, was born c1811 in Giles Co., TN. His father also had five known children by a #2 wife Mary Unknown, plus two mystery females who we don't know which wife was there mother.

Davis moved to Lauderdale Co., AL, in 1818 with his father, then 1822/23 moved to Whortons Creek, now in Madison Co., AR, then c1825/26 to Morgan Co., IL, and again back to AR in c1836 with his father residing in War Eagle T., Madison Co. Also moving to Madison Co. at the same time were Davis' two sisters, Delilah Houston and Mary Walker, brother Andrew, and his fathers second family. I have never seen Davis Fanning in the 1840, 1850 or 1860 AR census, and the info on his children is from another researcher though he did appear in some of the taxlists. Have not been able to find Eliza Jane's three brothers and all I have on her sister is that she married Burrell Blevins 28 Jan 1858, also in Washington Co., AR. The children did not appear in the 1850 census with their mother. There is a story on how Davis died in the 1860's.

Joseph Fanning Sr (c1768 NC/c1845 AR) was the son of John Fanning Sr (c1737/1814 VA) and unknown mother. Barbara Davis (c1773VA/before 1820 TN/AL) was the daughter of John Davis Sr and Mary Unknown.

I would appreciate any info on George W. Howery, in AR and TX, and would like to compare/share info on this elusive man and Eliza Jane.

Thanks, Judie
