By the way, I provided an emigration record and did not provide a birth record. You can order a microfilm which will show his birth record. Order from a Family History Center. You will find the record on one of these films, maybe the first one since he was born early in the year, but cities(such as Gävle) are usually at the end of the films, so perhaps you "will" need to order both films. Probably he was born in whatever parish the family lived in when the census was recorded in 1900. (It is listed on that cd's record, which I provided to you.)

Födda means births. All the parishes in Gävleborg län (county) will be on those films.

Sweden, Gävleborg - Civil registration

Födda 1901 - FHL INTL Film [ 1364955 Item 3 ]
Födda, Vigda, Döda 1901 - FHL INTL Film [ 1364956 Items 1-3 ]

The father must have died in 1900 if this man was born in 1901, so look for his death record. Dödda means deaths. If you are lucky, his cause of death will be listed. (Of course everything is in Swedish but post any questions on the Genforum Sweden board.)
