Hi Denise, so good to hear from you about the Howitts. I haven't been researching in awhile, but from time to time, I get a message from one of the many forums I've been on and it's always fun to try and put the pieces of the puzzle together. .. I find 2 Bessies on the family tree. One is the daughter of the original Robert and Margaret Wright Howat. She married a Hugh Campbell and had 4 daughters - Peggy, Sarah, Nancy, and Dot. The other Bessie would be the granddaughter of Robert and Margaret and the daughter of Samuel and Jean. Her daughters were Betty, Janet and Beverly. However, I found Ruth Jean Ashcroft, daughter of Margaret Howitt and Fred Ashcroft. She married a Jonathon Terry (would that be your husband's family name?). I show that they had Jeanne, Robby, David, and Philip. Let me know if any of this sounds accurate.
Cindy
