Carol Howze (?) late 1800s, Georgia

I'm seeking information about Carol Howze(?)
If such a person existed she would have been in Homerville Georgia area in late 1800s.
My father always said his grandmother was a Lizzie (House, Howze, Houze.
I have nothing to back this up with one exception. My brother was given a Bible from the homeplace a couple of years ago and the name in the front was:
Carroll Houze(? not real clear)
G(C)lass #1 - #2
Gainesville, Fl
Mar. 19 1926
by K. Crenshaw

I would like any information that might be helpful. Of course, she would most probably not be my grandmother but may provide some kind of link. Thank you
