I haven't done much work on the Howse family recently except to discover that Daniel and Mary had a 6th child Florence A (probably Alberta ) born in 1882 who appears on the 1901 census as a dressmaker although her surname has been mis-transcibed as Horose.

Florence's older sister Rose or Rosina Howse married a Mr Villa sometime after 1901 but according to her Aunt Ann Hearn (nee Roads Merry)'s will is a widow by 1921. It may be that Rose lost her husband in the Great War. I must check that out.

I have a note of an Abraham Howse being baptised at Bicester in 1819 son of Jacob Howse and Sarah. Any connection? I also have a query that Charles Howse died in 1865.

Thanks for getting in contact,
Ann Johnston
