Matthew Hubbard and Ralph Hubbard, Burnswick andLunenburg Co., Virginia

Matthew Hubbard and his son Ralph Hubbard were on a number of deeds in Brunswick and Lunenburg Co. in the mid-to-late-18th century. Matthew showed up as early as 1756. Ralph in 1762. Both were bricklayers. Ralph's wife Millicent was on deeds in 1775 and 1778. A 1787 deed listed a wife named Ann.

Ralph Hubbard witnessed a deed for Thomas Cadet Young in 1762 and witnessed his will in 1769. William Young, brother of Thomas Cadet Young, married Martha (last name unknown). William and Martha Young gave the middle name "Hubbard" to at least 4 of their children. One of those children was named Matthew Hubbard Young. This raises the possibility that Martha was a Hubbard, perhaps related to Matthew and Ralph Hubbard.

Does anyone have information about Matthew Hubbard and his son Ralph?

Janice
