I was hoping to find a connection to the Preston Hugg.I found in the Kentucky Miracode Index for 1910, I believe, that Preston was from Georgia.I believe he is the son of William J. Hugg and Martha Carrell Hugg. After the Civil War, two of the married children, Joseph and Stephen, moved to Tennessee but have not been able to locate William & Martha and younger children.William J was the sone of Stephen Hugg of South Carolina and the line ends there. It is believed they may connect to Peter Hugg from Switzerland who died abt 1750.But maybe not.I have not found any Huggs in the early censuses of South Carolina.
I found, by accident, the Huggs in Louisville and more in Paducah.I really hoped they were related.
