Dear Group: My ancestor Daniel Sunderland and his wife Elizabeth baptized two daughters Suzanne and Marie on 31 Dec 1738 at the French Church of New Rochelle performed by Rev.P Stouppe. The godparents were Sameul Bernard,Elizabeth Parcot and Jean Secord and Jeanne his wife.As Daniel Sunderland was not French I am wondering if his wife was a Huguenot. In her book "Huguenot Refugees" by Paula W.Carlo she states that godparents were usually close relatives. So can anyone provide any further infromation, clues, about how the above people may have been related? Is Jean Secord the loyalist who went to Canada? The son of Daniel above removed to Pennsylvania about 1773 to the Northumberland County area. Regards:Loren Varga
