Hugett relation to the huguenots
Posted by: Lisa Kellison Date: September 14, 2000 at 13:11:41

Hi! My mother's mother's maiden name was Hugett - she always said that it was a variation on Huguenot. She said that part of the family changed their name while in France - some religious persecution of the Huguenots, so they changed it so people wouldn't know their real name. Has anyone else heard of this relationship?
Thanks!
