Huguenot families, Romney Marsh, Kent??

Does anyone know of records relating to families who may have settled in Kent after the troubles in France? It is a vague possibilty that the Swaffer familiy may descend from Huguenots who settled in the Romney Marsh area of southern Kent, but when I tried to enquire at the Huguenot Church in Orange Street, London, I was met with a resounding and abrupt "No!!" - Can anyone help?
