I have not been able to determine when Karl may have immigrated. Have recently found an address in the District of Columbia where I may be able to obtain Karl's marr. record. Although he is listed as Jacob Karl and the date of marriage is six days earlier than what I have. 1860 Philadelphia area census shows a Jacob Huhn age 30 machinist from Germany, Augustine age 22 from Germany, and Kate age 2 from Pa. The census taker may have interchanged the ages of Kate and Augustine. Augusta was born in Washington in 1858. I also have info. from a cousin that sent for a passenger list search from Ancestors Ltd. in Pa. which covers 1800-1860....there were 4 listings??? Jacob Honn...1848, Jacob Hohn..1848, Jacob Hohn...1853, and Jacob Hohn...1856, all entering the Port of Phil. and it indicated addt. info. might be available in the Index to Records of Alien Declarations of Intention, 1789-1880 in the U.S. Circuit Court-Phil.by US Works proj.adm. vol.5 listed on pgs. 24,230,and 247. Have not been able to track this down.
