Do you know if any branch of this Huie family went from NC to AL to Rapides Parish, LA? I'm tracing a Huie family in Rapides Parish with NC roots. Three brothers (I think) Josiah (1800-1890), Robert (1808-?) and Green (1810-1865) had a plantation worth $206,000 in 1860 in Rapides Parish. They were all born in NC. Their father was born in NC and mother in SC. Haven't been able to connect them with any of the Huie families in NC yet. One of Green's descendents started the Alexandria Town Talk newspaper. Their web page says the founder was Irish, which makes me wonder at the connection to this line. He also had the middle name of Morrison, which I think was one of the Scotch families connected to this line in NC. Any light you can shed on this would be most helpful. I've gotten quite a bit on the descendents of the three brothers, but can't get back any further with any confidence, just supposition. Many thanks!
