I've been researching Huie three men, that I think were brothers, all born in NC (one in Charlotte). Josiah, b. 1800, m. Eliza; Robert b. 1808 m. Mary (b. 1815 in NC),and Green b. Charlotte in 1810. They all moved sometime to the area around Alexandria, Rapides Parish, LA and became large plantation owners. On his death in 1860 Josiahs plantation was worth $208,600 and he owned 161 slaves. Much was destroyed during the Civil War by a Union major.
