Hi, Christie. I have some of the info you wanted, and probably way more detail than you need.
According to the reference book we have, Bela Ruth Huie was born 3 Nov 1898 in Jonesboro, Clayton County, GA; married 5 December 1925 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN, to Jesse Eugene Wood, son of Rev. Elias Hinton Wood and Tallulah Gertude Walker; Jesse born 10 January 1898, Acworth, Cobb County, GA; Jesse died 4 April 1982, Wilmington, New Hanover County, NC, buried Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
I don't know Aunt Ruth's exact date of death, because when the book was published in 1995, she was still alive. My mother-in-law will know it right away, and I'll leave you another note when she calls me back.
Ruth was the third child (my husband's grandfather Max Cannon Huie was the 4th) of Bela McLeod Huie (20 Jan 1868-23 May 1905) and Effie Jeannette McNair (09 Dec 1896-30 Jul 61). Bela McLeod was the 13th son of John McEver Huie (17 Feb 1815-19 May 1883) and his second wife Caroline Elizabeth Yarbrough (1838 - 21 Sep 1886). John McEver was the 6th child of Robert Huie (02 Feb 1779 - 02 Jan 1857) and Mary Margaret McEver (1783 - 20 Jan 1867). And Robert was the 6th child of James (17 Feb 1744 - 03 April 1828) and Mary Lynn (26 Jul 1748 - 25 Aug 1831). James was born of Scottish parents and emigrated from Ireland as a child in about 1755. Every single one of these people are buried in the same churchyard as Aunt Ruth -- the Huie Family Cemetery at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Forest Park GA. Having all those headstones side by side by side makes geneology pretty easy stuff. The family has rather exhaustive records as well, as you may have suspected.
And you're right, there were two children and many grandchildren. I'd be glad to send you a photocopy of the pages of our book with that info, if you like.
Hope this helps!
Judy Stewart Huie
