Another Branch of the U.S. Huke's checking in. I've just started reseaching the family name. Unfortunately, Father died in 1997. The 1990 U.S. Census lists something like 355 individuals with Surname, Huke. My Grandfather Henry R. Huke, Married Ruth Place of Vermont. They lived in Waterbury, CT, where my Aunt Dorothy,(Approx. 1913) and Father Henry, Jr(December 15, 1915) were born. Later, moved to Dedham and Brighton, MA born in Boston area were, Theodore, Gloria(Newman), Ruth(Balinger), Maryjane (Manning), and James(known as Jack). Henry, Jr. Married Shirley Edith MacCallum, in 1945 and Henry R. III was born in Boston January 29, 1947, Peter Wade, August 11, 1949, and Wendy Elizabeth(Abraham), January 25, 1956. I'll follow up with more as time permits. Very little is known of the generation which preceded my Grandfather. Tradition is that there were a group (7 or 8????)brothers, in the trade of Brass Workers who emigrated from England, and settled in Connecticut originally, before dispersing.
