We have the 1947 newspaper article regarding the death of William Asheville Hulan who at 105 had been "one of Davidson County's oldest citizens". In the article it states he was born 9-23-1842 the son of Jonathan Hulan, born 1797. He married Sarah Frances McRory during the Civil War. They had nine children, only Mrs. Sarah Amanda Fields, Russell Banks, George Henry and Charles Hulan survived him. Sarah died 10-17-1896. He married Jennie Bell @ 1901. She at age 66 survived him as did William Martin and Herman Hulan and Mrs. Eva Demonbreun.

No wonder there are so many who can trace their lineage to William Asheville as he had a total of 15 children.

I think I have clarified that George Thomas Hulan was his brother. It is George Thomas we are trying to trace. If anyone has information on him I would appreciate it.

I will forward the article, re-typed, to anyone who wants it.
