Hi. I am researching a Mary Ann Hulan? Hobbs. I think that she was the first born of Jonathan and Eliza. She married Carroll Hobbs in 1849 so she does not appear on the census with them. All of her childrens death records say her maiden name was Hulan. She is buried at Hobbs cemetary also. I am hoping someone has heard this story and remembers it. She lived until 1931. She was baking cookies on Christmas and her apron caught fire. She survived but was bedridden. She died one month later on Jan 26, 1931. I have not been able to locater her death certificate. Her married name was Hobbs and the obit said she was survived by two brothers William and George Hobbs. I think this was a typo and it may actually be William and George Hulan. If this story rings a bell with anyone, PLEASE contact me. This is a mystery that I have been working on for years.
