Just responding to this:

Tabitha b. 1795 in VA. married Arthur (first or last name?)

I think you can find info about this family in one of the 1880s Goodspeed histories of TN, don't remember which county -- maybe Knox, under the spelling Huling? Anyway, Arthur (first-name) Hulan (however spelled) married his cousin Tabitha Hulan (however spelled). That line eventually goes to Wartburg, Morgan Co. TN; and from there to Tracy City, Grundy Co. TN. Also, I believe Dr. Matthew Hulen in Winchester, Franklin Co. TN was in that line (desc. from Arthur and Tabitha). The Goodspeed account may be about him, and therefore in the Franklin County volume.

I also believe there are one or two Arthur Hulans of earlier generations than the one who married Tabitha.

You and I are more closely related to Tabitha than to her husband Arthur; but we are, in varying degrees, double cousins to descendants of that couple.
