I am a Johnathan Hulan descendant also. Robin is related via Edward Hulan that moved to Bon Aqua, TN. while I am related through his older brother William P. Hulan that stayed in Davidson County until he died in 1990. Their Grandfather was George Washington Hulan. He had a btoher William Ashville Hulan. Their father was Johnathan Hulan.
I have also created yahoo group where several of us are posting information about the Hulan family. Here is a link.
The Hulan's and the Hobbs were large families in West Nashville in the late 1800's. Here is what I have on Mary Ann Hulan Hobbs...
4) Mary Ann Hulan. b. 1839
Married James “Carroll” Hobbs, b. 1817
They married Aug. 18, 1848 in TN.
They had one child: James W. Hobbs, 1851, m. Virginia Bell Butler, b. 1859 married on Nov 11, 1874 and they had two children.
a. Lula V. Hobbs, b. 1876 (m. Dots Perry)
b. William C. Hobbs b.1878
This is where the Hulan family connects to the Hobbs family. This is why it was called the Hulan-Hobbs Cemetery. Some Hulan’s and many of these Hobbs were probably buried there.
