A DNA Project has already been begun by Hulbert descendants to document and verify the connections between various Hulbert/var. lines.

I am a Hulbert descendant, and for testing we are looking for modern day MALE descendants (from newborns to senior citizens) who actually bear the Hulbert surname in any of its many variations, and while all lines are welcomed to participate (throughout the USA and UK), we are especially interested in those who believe they are descended from the following 12 HULBERT PROGENITORS:
I. JOHN HULBERT/HULBURD SR. (b. 1652 in Windsor, Hartford Co., CT d. 19 Jul 1713 in Northampton, MA) and his sons to wit:
i. John Hulbert Jr. (b. 28 Feb 1676 d. 10 Jan 1737);
ii. James “Hulberd” (b. 7 Mar 1679 d.1679);
iii. Samuel “Hulberd” (b. 10 Oct 1681 d. 8 Jun 1748 as "Hulbert");
iv. James “Hulberd” Sr. (b. 15 Oct 1687 d. 10 Apr 1767 as "Hulbert");
II. WILLIAM HULBERT/HULBURD II (b. 1654 in Windsor, Hartford Co., CT d. 11 Mar 1734 in Enfield, CT) and his sons:
i. Baradiah (i.e. Berechiah) Hulbert (b. 2 Feb 1689 d.1709, no issue?)
ii. Thomas Hulbert (b. 10 Oct 1693 in Enfield, CT ( also listed in
Northampton, MA records as born there 8 Jan 1694) d.? no issue?)
iii. William Hulbert III (b. 11 Dec 1698 in Enfield, CT d.?)
iv. Obadiah Hulbert Sr. (b. 3 Aug 1703 in Enfield, CT d. 13 Nov. 1784 in
same - had issue)
v. Ebenezer Hulbert (b. 15 Jul 1705 in New Haven, CT, d.? no issue?)
vi. Benjamin Hulbert (b. 13 Mar 1709/10 in New Haven, CT d. 1 Nov
1757 at Ft. Ticonderoga, NY - had issue)
III. RHUBEN/RUBEN HULBERT/HULBURD (b.c.1765? in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. apparently bef. 1840?)
i. (Rhuben Hulbert jr????) in OH in 1820???
ii. Lewis Hulbert (b. 1790-1800 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d.1916 in same), who had to wit sons: Charles Bonnell Hulbert (b. 14 Feb 1834); Aaron C. Hulbert; George W. Hulbert; Sylvester C. Hulbert
IV. WILLIAM HULBERT (b.c.1763 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. 9 Mar. 1798 at 34 in same, m. Deborah Fairchild - no surviving issue?)
V. EPHRAIM HULBERT (b. 5 April 1759 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. aft.1833 in Fairfield Co., OH?) and his sons to wit:
i. Oliver Hulbert (b. bet. 1800 and 1810 in NJ?/NY? d. aft. 1830 OH?)
ii. (Boy) Hulbert ( b. bet. 1800 and 1810 in NJ?/NY? d. aft. 1830 OH?)
VI. JOTHAM HULBERT/HULBURD (bap. 14 Sep. 1766 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. aft. 1830 in Newark, NJ.) and his sole son to wit:
i. William Hulbert of Newark, NJ (b. bet. 1805 and 1810 in Randolph/Hanover d. aft. 1860 in Newark?).
VII. JOSHUA HULBERT/HULBURD (bap. 21 Aug. 1768 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. 8 Feb. 1847 in same) and his sons to wit (there were possibly 3 sons):
i. Isaac Babbit Hulbert (b. 1796 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. 17 Jan 1813 in same)
ii. Martin S. Hulbert (b.1798 in Randolph/Hanover, NJ d. aft. 1860 in same?)
iii. (Boy) Hulbert
VIII. WILLIAM (W.?) HULBERT/HOLBERT (Sr.?) (b.c.1762? d. 11 Feb 1827 in Pavilion (Genesee Co.), NY) and his sons to wit:
i. James Hulbert (b. 27 Sep 1791 in NJ?/NY? d. 20 Sep 1832 in Le Roy/Pavilion, NY)
ii. William Hulbert Jr. (b.1793 in NJ?/NY? d.1865 in Le Roy/Pavilion, NY).
IX. BENJAMIN HULBERT/HOLBERT (b.c.1765 on Staten Island? d.c.1817 in Wyalusing (i.e. Tuscarora, Bradford Co.), PA.) and his sons to wit:
i. Charles Hulbert, b.c.1802?
ii. John Hulbert, b.c.1804?
X. MOSES HULBERT/HOLBERT (b.c.1767? on Staten Island? d. sometime aft. 1812 in Morris Co, NJ?, or Bradford Co., PA? - issue?)
XI. CHARLES HULBERT/HOLBERT (b.c.1774? on Staten Island? d.? aft. 1816 in Chatham/Madison, NJ? - issue? Is the following his son???)
XII. CHARLES HULBERT of Westfield, NJ (b.1800-1810 d. aft. 1840 in same? - had at least 3 sons, maybe more)
