FYI. While researching Asa6 Pattee (Asa5-4, Peter3, Richard2, Peter1) I found the following in the “Journal of the New York Annual Conference from 1800 to 1820 inclusive,” p. 42, vol. 12, reel 3 of Methodist Episcopal Church records, 1791-1945, (Volumes 1-486: 40 microfilm reels [and box 450 not filmed]), collection Z-L 412, Manuscript and Archives Division, New York Public Library:
On 10 May 1809, the third question before the conference was “Who are admitted into full connection, & elected to the office of Deacons?” The list included “Cephas Hulbert, m[arried], pious, something useful, clear in doc[trine] & dis[cipline]” immediately followed by “Elias Pattie, m, pious, zealous, very useful.”
