He seems to have been married 4 times first 2 Sarah & Jane Hulen. both are mentioned May 14 1844 as Sheriff letting them with others (elizab, ailsey, Luncinda, Martha, Robert & tabitha) land on Yadkin river. these are generally held to be kids of Robert Hulen, as in 1840 he has 6 girls. no reason to doubt it.


Wm David Weant married Ailsey(Elsa?) & Martha Hulen their sisters.
But the lists I have of Corl kids does not give laura, but then as he married Eliza Kootz in 1856. she was likely being 4 or so was farmed out. to aunt Weant? 1860 & 70 census should serve.

interested in Hulens track down book "those unruly women" has a section on Hulen females.
